My final semester at CalArts starts tomorrow and I'm excited to investigate deeper into both music technology and film scoring. I'm currently working on the music for my recital which will feature a jazz dectet with electronics combining both minimalist and jazz structures. Additionally, I'll be working on scoring a few animations as well as getting into experimental uses of sound and image like on this recent project of mine.

I just finished the first year of my masters program at CalArts! This summer I will be interning for Comma Music and The Lodge learning how to write and produce music for commercials. I am also excited to have my sax quartet TVSQ start playing in Los Angeles. Stay tuned for upcoming shows. I recorded an orchestral arrangment of the Beatles "I Want You" featuring the sax quartet that you can listen to here.

It is official: I will be attending California Institute of the Arts next year to pursue an MFA in Composition! I am looking forward to studying with the professors out there as well as getting into the LA music scene. I have updated the jazz page with a few new recordings from a recent concert. Next up for me is finishing music for the Grand Valley Sports Report as well as writing a jazz brass quintet composition!

I just got back from a whirlwind tour of the United States checking out graduate schools. I had a lot of fun but now I am back to writing music and setting up performances (also fun). If you go to the calendar page you can see what I have set up for this spring. One highlight is an interview/performance with TVSQ on LCC radio's The Vinyl Side of Midnight (3/17, 9pm). We will play some new Beatles arrangements of mine as well as discuss our time at the International Saxophone Symposium. The broadcast will be streaming online here.

It has been awhile since an update as I have been applying for graduate schools. During that time I started up a new group, the Orange Nature Jazz Orchestra. You can take a listen to that group on the jazz page. TVSQ was accepted to play at the International Saxophone Symposium this January, which is held at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. That is the only upcoming date on the calendar right now, but look for more soon as I start to set up performances and apply to jazz festivals.

My new jazz saxophone quartet album, TVSQ, got a review from eMusic!

Hello and welcome to my new website! Tomorrow is a big day as my jazz saxophone quartet, TVSQ, is performing at the Lansing Jazz Fest. The performance is from 2 to 3pm on the Jackson National stage. The festival is located in Lansing's Old Town on the intersection of Grand River and Turner streets. In addition, I just recieved the CDs for our new album, TVSQ, and they will be for sale beside the stage. I hope to see you there!
